SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a strategy in web development or design which usually includes post-design advocacy to improve the recognition of a site by search engines. The goal is to make your small business website appear in or near the first page of Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines. The result, especially when you list the number 1 on the first page, it can mean more traffic to your site with the ultimate goal of visitors converted to buying customers.

SEO can also mean a person, or Search Engine Optimizer, who is an employee or contractor directly responsible for the adaptation outside of your small business website code, website content and promotional activities to achieve a single page search engines. Like any profession, performance varies greatly from one to another. The third group is similar to the latter group, but they expect to have a site magically bring instant fortune.
